Just use FL Studio, it's much easier.

ok, i can answer this cause ive had both. the 500 is ok. just ok. it has limited upgradability. the 1000 is the right starter mpc. the machine is cool. no doubt the computer helps to understand but i think you ask anyone, its totally a user thing. you either watch enought you tube til you sell yourself on an mpc. i bought a machine because the guy at guitar center made it look easy. i gave it away. if these videos help, mpc. if you actually read the book, maybe either. but READ THE BOOKs

I believe that if its a 4 bar you just double it the regions makes 32 and 8 bar makes 64 regions. I believe should be 1/8 each pad

what if i have a 4 bar or 8 bar loop. how many regions would i slice them into? and how many beats would be between each pad.

there are a couple of ways you can do it.1Playing with the pitch on your MPC, but then of course that would change the pitch, sometimes its good cuz you can get a different vibe. 2The next is using a computer. I use ableton and in ableton I also do my chops I hardly use the MP now.3Is to get a perfect 2bar loop and chop into 16 pads then play them as you wish but you will need to add some reverb if your playing way under original tempo. Also try to do a choke group for that bank.
